Staff iOS Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Carlos, California, with 3+ days per week onsite and remote work available on the remaining days. All work must be performed in the United States. Only U.S. Persons may be hired due to U.S. export control regulations; visa sponsorship and visa transfers are not available.

Salary: $224,000–$260,000 annual base salary at L6, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks.
• Build and maintain reliable, high-performance mobile applications with senior engineers.
• Integrate internal and external APIs to support real-time data and application functionality.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to deliver intuitive mobile experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and apply established iOS practices and architectural patterns.
• Improve code quality, performance, and maintainability through testing and documentation.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience developing iOS applications, or equivalent experience through internships, projects, or coursework.
• Experience with Swift and SwiftUI, with some exposure to UIKit and common iOS frameworks.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, including async/await, multithreading, or GCD.
• Basic experience with networking, APIs, or real-world data sources.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
• U.S. Person status and the ability to perform all work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Passion for aviation and interest in improving air travel efficiency and safety.
• Exposure to mapping or spatial frameworks such as Mapbox or MapKit.
• Interest in real-time data, sensors, or hardware-adjacent systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows or cloud-backed mobile systems.
