Software Engineer III, iOS - Cal AI

Salary: $135,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Build native iOS interfaces in collaboration with design and user interface teams, following iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
• Develop and deliver high-quality features for the AI-powered Cal AI food logging experience.
• Improve user experience by optimizing UI, data storage, and network communications.
• Research and implement technical solutions aligned with business and user needs.
• Provide technical leadership across design, testing, security, and deployment practices.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams and coach junior developers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Professional experience building iOS applications with Swift in an Agile environment.
• Experience writing unit tests and maintainable, testable code.
• Experience with multithreaded programming, RESTful APIs, relational databases, Git, package managers, and CI/CD.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an interest in mentoring junior developers.
• Kindness, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive teamwork.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing a large legacy codebase.
• Experience with functional reactive programming frameworks such as RxSwift or Combine.
• Experience with SwiftUI.
