Audit Senior Associate (AEC)

Location: New York City, NY; additional locations in Uniondale, NY and Iselin, NJ. The role involves face-to-face client work.

Pay range: $96,700–$125,000 in New York, NY; $92,800–$120,000 in Uniondale, NY; $89,000–$115,000 in Iselin, NJ.

What you will do

• Plan and design audit procedures with audit teams and clients in accordance with accounting and auditing standards.
• Assess financial risks and recommend controls to mitigate risks for architecture, engineering, and construction clients.
• Lead fieldwork, including testing financial statements, internal controls, and transactional data.
• Build client relationships, communicate findings, prepare audit reports, and recommend solutions for weaknesses and deficiencies.
• Evaluate compliance with industry-specific requirements, including revenue recognition, percentage-of-completion accounting, and construction accounting principles.
• Guide and train junior staff, review their work, manage engagement budgets and resources, and improve audit processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of audit experience, preferably with exposure to AEC clients.
• Profound knowledge of tax regulations, financial services, and relevant tax software.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
