Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: Salt Lake City, UT; remote work-from-home options are available. The pay structure applies across U.S. geographic markets.

Salary: $104,000–$201,300 annually, depending on work location and job-related factors.

What you will do

• Design, build, and validate machine learning and statistical models for defined business problems.
• Explore large datasets, identify trends and insights, and partner with data engineers on feature creation and refinement.
• Design and analyze experiments to measure the impact of data-driven initiatives.
• Present findings and technical results clearly to non-technical stakeholders and support strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data analysts, and business partners in an agile environment to deploy models into products and processes.
• Follow data privacy and security standards, set evaluation metrics, test work thoroughly, and support the growth of newer teammates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of experience building and validating machine learning or statistical models.
• 3–5 years of experience using Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
• 3–5 years of SQL experience writing medium to complex queries.
• Demonstrated experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization tools or libraries.
• Ability to explore critical relationships, make strategic recommendations, work with strategic analytics and stakeholders, define evaluation metrics, and explain technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to keep up with new data science and machine learning methods and bring ideas to the team.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience deploying models to production.
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
