Engineering Program Manager (Satellite Connectivity)

Location: Mountain View, California; hybrid in the header and on-site in the role description.

Estimated base salary: $130,000–$140,000 per year, plus benefits and equity options.

What you will do

• Drive end-to-end integration of cloud-native software releases with physical network implementation across global satellite ground stations.
• Synchronize hardware, firmware, software, device certification, and OEM and chipset partner milestones.
• Navigate trade-offs between terrestrial roaming requirements, non-terrestrial network performance standards, and live-network reliability.
• Resolve ambiguity across software engineering, network operations, and external satellite operators while maintaining 99.9% service availability.
• Define critical-path dependencies for multi-continent deployments, including regulatory and infrastructure milestones.
• Manage launch-window decisions, vendor and satellite operator risks, spectrum coordination, hardware supply chains, and post-launch improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field covering software and hardware systems.
• 5+ years of experience managing complex engineering programs integrating cloud-native software with physical infrastructure or telecommunications hardware.
• Experience synchronizing the software development lifecycle with hardware testing and network deployment milestones.
• Deep understanding of network implementation constraints, including spectrum coordination or ground station operations.
• Experience with device certification processes and 3GPP standards in partnership with chipset makers or OEMs.
• Experience managing high-stakes vendor relationships and external satellite operator partnerships to meet critical launch dates.
• Expertise adapting agile software practices to long-lead physical network infrastructure projects.
• Analytical ability to identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks across cross-functional engineering teams.
• Sound judgment balancing rapid software iteration with the reliability requirements of a live global network, plus experience aligning technical requirements with non-technical business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
• Expert-level experience with program management tools such as JIRA.
