Engineering Manager – UI Software Development (Security Director Cloud & On-Premise)

Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico; hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week from an HPE office.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop the UI engineering team for Security Director Cloud and Security Director On-Prem.
• Own the UI technology roadmap, architecture, execution strategy, and release delivery across both products.
• Drive development of scalable, responsive, and interactive web applications, dashboards, reusable component libraries, design systems, and micro-frontend architectures.
• Translate customer requirements into user experiences with Product Management and UX teams, and influence product direction and technology investments.
• Ensure quality through code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, security practices, governance, and architecture reviews.
• Coordinate Agile planning, risk management, hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, talent development, and cross-functional delivery with Cloud, Platform, Backend, DevOps, and QA teams.

Requirements

• BE/BTech/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Typically 12+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading software engineering teams.
• Proven experience in UI engineering.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Demonstrated success delivering large-scale products from conception through production.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience establishing engineering processes, development standards, and quality practices.
• Proven people leadership and team-building skills, including attracting, retaining, and developing engineering talent.
• Strong technical judgment, architectural decision-making, ownership, accountability, execution focus, customer focus, and ability to balance short-term commitments with long-term platform investments.
• Experience driving cross-functional initiatives across Product, UX, Engineering, and Operations.

Nice to have

• Experience in Security, Networking, SASE, SSE, NGFW, or Zero Trust domains.
• Experience building Network Management Systems or Security Management platforms.
• Experience leading UI modernization or design-system transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to AIOps, observability, analytics, and monitoring platforms.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
