Manager I, Engineering - Reference Tables Access

Location: Hybrid; New York, New York, USA. Other locations include Boston and Remote - Texas.

Salary: $192,000–$240,000 USD per year, plus equity and potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Lead a team of engineers and ensure effective project execution.
• Partner with product managers and staff engineers to define and drive technical direction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on the team roadmap and broader technical direction.
• Establish and uphold engineering best practices, consistency, and quality.
• Mentor and coach engineers and support their career growth.
• Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in large-scale distributed systems and/or customer-facing platform development, with the ability to work deeply in code and designs when needed.
• Experience solving complex technical challenges.
• Engineering leadership skills, including prioritization, escalation, clear communication, and helping teams make progress through ambiguity.
• Experience with mission-critical systems and high-stakes operations.
• Experience supporting infrastructure that requires high reliability and rapid incident response through a 24x7 on-call rotation.
