What you will do

• Design, implement, and manage large-scale Confluent and AWS MSK Kafka clusters.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions for Kafka and Snowflake platforms using Terraform.
• Craft and architect complex data pipelines within cloud-based distributed systems.
• Define and enforce best practices and self-service capabilities for our data platforms.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams to understand their data needs.
• Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial experience as a Software or Platform Engineer focused on data infrastructure.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Kafka in a production environment.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.
• A solid understanding of distributed systems architecture.
• Proficiency in at least one of core programming languages (Go, TypeScript).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially in managing data-related services.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools, specifically Snowflake.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Kafka, and Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment.
• Experience with other tools in the Kafka ecosystem like Schema Registry and Kafka Connect.
• Passion about data and solving complex, large-scale technical problems.
• Strong sense of ownership and the drive to build sustainable, long-term solutions.
