Software Engineer (II-III), Full Stack (Elixir)

Location: Onsite near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA; candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance or required ITAR authorizations.

Base salary: $115,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and sustain satellite command and control, mission planning, mission data processing, and data analysis software systems using Elixir.
• Contribute to architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to create integrated mission and ground-system capabilities.
• Debug and solve problems in live systems.

Requirements

• Experience with Elixir software development and front-end development.
• Experience with functional programming in Elixir, Erlang, Clojure, Haskell, Ruby, or F#.
• Proven experience developing resilient and fault-tolerant architectures and experience with distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline, or relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work across disciplines.
• A strong bias toward understanding and challenging the status quo.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of Elixir and OTP, including BEAM scheduling, GenServers, run queues, and pg or the Actor model.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or React Three Fiber/three.js.
• Experience with OAuth2 and role-based access controls.
• Deep understanding of network protocols.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with monitoring and tracing in distributed systems.
