Remote Junior Web Developer (HTML/CSS)

Location: 100% remote; applicants are welcome from around the world. Availability required Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Starting base pay for candidates in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado: $15–$35 per hour. Compensation may vary for candidates outside these states.

What you will do

• Transform complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect HTML5/CSS3 templates and create responsive website designs.
• Build and support websites on WordPress, BigCommerce, and Shopify.
• Optimize images for the web using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fireworks.
• Use version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality, detail-oriented work.

Requirements

• Beginner-level knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery.
• Understanding of web design and ecommerce ecosystems.
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects and tasks.
• Highly organized work style with strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills.
• Ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural remote work environment.
• Passion for building and growing in a startup-style environment.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
• Reliable remote workstation with a fast computer, microphone, speakers, reliable internet, and reliable power. Reliable transportation is required if working in-house.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the web design industry.
• Experience with WordPress, BigCommerce, or Shopify.
• Experience converting PSD layouts into responsive web templates.
• Experience using Photoshop, Illustrator, or Fireworks.
• Experience using Git or SVN for version control.
• College coursework, training, or projects related to web design, web development, or front-end development.
