Design Engineer - Contract (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Portage, Michigan, 5 days per week; 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Design a siderail subsystem for a medical device frame that meets functional, aesthetic, testing, and durability requirements.
• Design and develop mechanical components and subsystems, contributing to assembly and system integration.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
• Support development and verification testing, including building and testing components and subsystems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Creo.
• Experience designing and manufacturing injection-molded, sheet-metal, and powder-metal components.
• Experience designing and manufacturing mechanisms.
• Knowledge of mechanical design engineering, including design, build, test, and system integration.
• Understanding of mechanical joining, fastening, and assembly.
• Experience with stack-up analysis.
