Head of Infrastructure

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada.

hirify.global is an AI health platform combining lab testing, MRI and CT imaging, longitudinal data, and AI and clinical guidance to help members understand and improve their health.

What you will do

• Own the infrastructure platform and SRE function across hirify.global, Ezra, Suppco, and Getlabs, including databases, compute, containers, networking, and cross-service and VPC communication.
• Design and drive long-term infrastructure architecture for international expansion, including multi-region topology, data residency, latency, and compliance boundaries.
• Establish SLOs, error budgets, on-call practices, incident response, and postmortem processes to improve availability and recovery.
• Improve infrastructure cost visibility and efficiency through build, buy, and consolidation decisions.
• Unify infrastructure practices, tooling, and networking across acquired companies while preserving delivery speed.
• Hire, coach, and lead Infrastructure and SRE engineers; remain hands-on in design reviews, architecture decisions, production debugging, and critical incidents; partner with EPD, Security, Clinical/Compliance, and executives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering, including 3+ years leading teams.
• Experience scaling a platform through a major growth stage, such as a multiple-times increase in users, traffic, or services.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, GCP or AWS, containers and orchestration, networking including VPC design and cross-service communication, and production database operations.
• Experience designing multi-region, data residency, or other compliance-driven architecture, including shipped or led multi-region or regulated-data designs.
• Experience defining and operating reliability programs, including SLOs, on-call rotations, incident command, and blameless postmortems.
• Ability to explain and make trade-offs among reliability, speed, cost, and security for engineers and executives.
• Hands-on technical credibility with the ability to review designs, debug in production, and earn the respect of senior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, health tech, or other regulated environments, including HIPAA, SOC 2, or international privacy regimes.
• Experience integrating infrastructure across acquired companies or multiple business units.
• Familiarity with FinOps practices and tooling.
• Interest in leading AI and developer productivity, including AI tooling, EPD enablement, and DevX tooling toward an agentic-first Software Factory.
