Director of Compliance (AI)

Location: Remote, U.S.

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 per year, salaried.

What you will do

• Set the strategic direction and long-term roadmap for regulatory compliance across licensing, service contract terms and conditions, and insurance partner relationships in North America.
• Own regulatory and licensing matters for business operations, new products, and initiatives, providing executive-level judgment on complex or high-risk issues.
• Represent hirify.global in regulatory examinations, inquiries, and audits while managing relationships with regulators, auditors, outside counsel, and partners.
• Embed compliance requirements into merchant onboarding, customer experience, contracting, product workflows, and program design.
• Build, coach, and develop the compliance team, define its long-term structure and career paths, and establish KPIs for licensing accuracy, timeliness, and cost.
• Modernize licensing, filing, and regulatory reporting through AI and other technology while maintaining internal controls, documentation, and reporting.

Requirements

• Significant experience in insurance, service contract, or regulatory compliance, including setting strategy and governance at scale.
• Demonstrated expertise managing regulatory relationships, licensing operations, and cross-functional compliance programs at scale.
• Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and adding value at the executive level.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect compliance strategy with commercial needs.
• Experience building, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment, ideally in technology or a regulated industry.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Excellent organizational and management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Direct, clear, concise, and exceptional communication skills; ability to influence without direct authority and quickly earn trust and credibility.
• Action-oriented, accountable, proactive, solution-oriented, entrepreneurial, curious, and empathetic toward merchant partners' needs.
