Mechanical/Thermal Hardware Engineer

Location: Onsite in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, United States

Annual base salary: USD 74,000–170,300 in Wisconsin; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design portions of mechanical and thermal engineering solutions, electronics enclosures, and production tooling.
• Develop and implement parameters and test plans for existing designs, including tolerance, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, and reliability validation.
• Develop fan curves, system power measurements, and acoustics evaluations.
• Collaborate with internal and outsourced development partners on mechanical and thermal design and development.
• Contribute to reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for low- to moderately-complex products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience.
• Experience using ProEngineer, SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD software for mechanical design.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes.
• Experience using CFD and thermal mockups to validate thermal solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language.
• Ability to communicate design proposals effectively and negotiate options.
• Primary work from an HPE office in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin is required.
