Systems/Software Engineer II (Python)

Location: Hybrid in Roseville, California, United States; work from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week.

Base salary: USD 108,500–218,500 annual salary in California, United States. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on project objectives and guidelines.
• Write and execute portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation; identify and debug code issues and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.
• Communicate software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution with internal and external development partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience.
• Professional experience with Python is required.
• Experience using software systems design tools and languages.
• Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including test plan execution, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language; ability to communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
