Senior Cloud Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Cupertino, California, United States; required to work an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Base salary: USD 143,000–290,500 annually in California, United States. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Analyze feature specifications and define coding, testing, and integration activities.
• Design and develop moderate-to-complex cloud application modules while following security policies.
• Debug code and integration issues and create solutions aligned with application architecture.
• Develop and execute comprehensive feature test plans covering performance, scale, usability, and security.
• Deploy cloud systems and application code through CI/CD pipelines to automate management, scaling, and deployment.
• Collaborate with project managers and development partners on delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, support, and technology innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline. A master’s degree is desirable.
• Typically 4–7 years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Golang, or JavaScript.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, event-driven programming paradigms, and designing for scale and performance.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, developer tools, managed services, and next-generation databases.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
