Mapping Specialist (GIS)

Location: Atlanta, GA, USA; hybrid schedule typically requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Up to 10% travel for customer site walks and asset tagging.

What you will do

• Create and edit customized Safety Blueprint maps using customer floor plans, CAD drawings, coordinate geometry, digitizing, file conversions, geoprocessing, and georeferencing.
• Perform quality assurance checks on map accuracy, asset features, and attributes before customer deployment.
• Manage multiple mapping projects, prioritize work around deployment dates, and deliver accurate maps on schedule.
• Resolve mapping issues with Project Management, Customer Support, Field Services, Sales, and Engineering, and communicate technical concepts to customers and non-technical audiences.
• Conduct customer site walks, tag critical assets, demonstrate Safety Blueprint functionality, and provide in-person or remote training.
• Maintain user guides, troubleshooting procedures, knowledge base articles, and documentation for mapping tools and workflows.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on experience with GIS applications such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
• Working knowledge of CAD, GIS, and cartography principles, including map maintenance and quality control.
• Experience with editing, versioning, validation, and analysis tools in GIS software.
• Experience georeferencing floor plans and converting DWG/DXF CAD files into GIS formats.
• Experience with Mapbox and/or Nearmap.
• Familiarity with project management practices and Google Workspace.
