Senior Software Engineer (C++/Embedded Linux)

What you will do

• Design and implement product software across edge and embedded Linux components, related integrations, and network or protocol interactions.
• Deliver production-quality C++ components on Linux, including performance tuning, memory and resource optimization, and maintainability improvements.
• Contribute to device build and release workflows using cross-compilation, CMake-based builds, packaging, and ARM targets.
• Develop and maintain Qt-based and embedded web UIs or operator-facing tooling for Linux targets.
• Implement and troubleshoot industrial communications and building-automation integrations, including traffic inspection and field-issue diagnosis.
• Collaborate with hardware, quality, and product teams; strengthen code reviews, automated checks, CI/CD direction, repeatable build and test flows, verification, and controlled releases.

Requirements

• Typically 6 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems in C++ on Linux.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Linux development and debugging, including command-line workflows and shell or Python scripting where used.
• Experience with publish/subscribe messaging fabrics such as MQTT, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Qt for Linux application development, including UI and/or tooling for embedded devices.
• Experience with modern build systems and packaging workflows for embedded targets, including CMake, cross-compilation, and ARM build targets.
• Proven collaboration across software, hardware, and quality disciplines in product environments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with industrial and building-automation communication stacks and protocols, including BACnet and Modbus, with the ability to diagnose network and protocol issues.
• Experience with IoT and edge-gateway integration patterns and multi-protocol systems.
• Experience with security validation practices and tools such as SAST, DAST, and threat modeling.
• Exposure to web-facing components or embedded web UIs for edge products.
