Construction Underwriter (Construction Insurance)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands, with hybrid working.

What you will do

• Underwrite Construction insurance risks in line with the Business Plan, underwriting guidelines, and delegated authority levels to achieve profitable growth.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, business partners, and internal stakeholders across the Dutch market.
• Drive new business opportunities and portfolio development.
• Help shape and develop underwriting strategy, knowledge, and best practice.
• Comply with legal, regulatory, and underwriting requirements while monitoring market dynamics and risk appetite.

Requirements

• Proven experience underwriting Construction risks, with a strong understanding of CAR, EAR, and related engineering insurance products.
• Good knowledge of the Dutch construction insurance market, including key trends, opportunities, regulatory considerations, and emerging risks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Intermediate-level understanding of Excel and other departmental software packages.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent Dutch and English.
