2027 Future Talent Program - Chemical Biology - Co-op

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America. Full-time, approximately 6-month co-op beginning in mid-2027. No relocation, visa sponsorship, or travel required.

Salary range: $39,108–$111,111 per year.

What you will do

• Perform short, multi-step organic synthesis and chemical diversification to generate novel small-molecule libraries.
• Work across chemistry and biology laboratory spaces to address complex biological problems relevant to drug discovery.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and improve experiments.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data while maintaining detailed laboratory records.
• Participate in lab meetings and present research findings.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
• At least two years of Ph.D. or equivalent degree studies completed by June 2027.
• Availability to work full-time for approximately six months beginning in mid-2027.
• Self-motivated, creative scientist with strong critical-thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Consent from the principal investigator is required when applying.
• Selected candidates must be prepared to submit letters of recommendation, a brief research statement, and transcripts during the interview process.

Nice to have

• Hands-on exposure to mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques.
• Experience designing, optimizing, and developing novel cell-based assays for phenotypic screening.
• Good understanding of biology concepts and the chemical application of perturbing biological systems.
• Experience with liquid handlers.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
