Product Governance Specialist (Fintech)

Location: London, UK; hybrid with three days in the office.

What you will do

• Own and continuously improve the new product approval process, ensuring appropriate stakeholder engagement, assessment, documentation, and sign-off before launch.
• Oversee product lifecycle governance, including ownership, ongoing monitoring, annual reviews, maintenance, target-market alignment, fair value, and customer outcomes.
• Establish product management information covering performance, customer service, complaints, incidents, risks, and fair value.
• Identify, escalate, track, and resolve product risks, control weaknesses, and adverse customer outcomes with product owners and stakeholders.
• Maintain product governance policies, processes, controls, reporting, disclosures, risk warnings, and customer communications.
• Train product managers on governance requirements and prepare materials for senior governance committees with the Product Operations Lead, Product Domain Leads, and CPO.

Requirements

• Practical experience designing, operating, or overseeing product governance frameworks and new product approval processes within a UK FCA-regulated financial services firm.
• Strong working knowledge of Consumer Duty, PROD, and UK MiFID II requirements, including their application to product design, approval, monitoring, review, and customer communications.
• Experience running or contributing to new product approval and annual product review processes.
• Experience producing management information and materials for senior committees and, where relevant, board-level reporting.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for product teams.
• Excellent written communication and judgement about when to escalate issues or resolve them directly.

Nice to have

• Experience with investment, leveraged trading, or crypto products.
• Background in a product role that moved into governance, or a compliance role that developed strong product fluency.
• Familiarity with vulnerable customer frameworks and fair value assessment methodologies.
