Continuous Improvement Co-Op (Lean Manufacturing)

Location: USA - PA - Pottsville; onsite at the Pottsville manufacturing location.

What you will do

• Use Lean Manufacturing tools including 6S, Visual Workplace, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Kaizen, SMED, and mistake proofing to increase productivity.
• Create Value Stream Maps and identify the eight wastes and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to define problems and implement Poka Yoke devices.
• Participate in Kaizen events and Root Cause Problem Solving teams, executing required countermeasures.
• Develop, maintain, and improve Visual Workplace tools and revise plant layouts to improve flow and eliminate waste.
• Support safety initiatives to increase awareness and reduce risk.

Requirements

• Study in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technology field.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with teams to define and solve problems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, certain temporary residents under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, refugees, or asylees.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
• PC, AutoCAD, and Visio skills.
