ML Engineer Sr Consultant (Machine Learning)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid arrangement with at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time. Work hours vary according to department needs.

Salary: $163,400–$261,500 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and applicable sales incentive payments.

What you will do

• Develop and program integrated software algorithms for product and systems applications across structured and unstructured data environments.
• Apply statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to improve product and system performance, quality, data management, and accuracy.
• Translate algorithms and technical specifications into production code using current programming languages and technologies.
• Design and implement adaptive learning methods, model explainability controls, model validation, and A/B testing.
• Conduct rigorous validation, identify logical flaws, and support post-deployment integrity and accuracy of machine learning solutions.

Requirements

• Senior Consultant: 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years with an advanced degree, 2+ years with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred experience threshold: 9+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or another highly quantitative field, or equivalent experience, with strength in deep learning, machine learning, data mining, statistical, or mathematical analysis.
• Experience developing integrated software algorithms for structured and unstructured data environments and applying techniques including decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis, Naive Bayes, SVM, and neural networks.
• Experience with rigorous validation, identifying logical flaws, explaining model decisions, and ensuring post-deployment integrity and accuracy.
• Ability to program in one or more scripting languages such as Perl or Python and one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Experience with statistical tools such as SAS, R, KNIME, or Matlab.
• Experience working with large datasets and modern big data and machine learning technologies.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and execute machine learning initiatives successfully.
• Digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools including ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.

Nice to have

• Deep learning experience with TensorFlow.
