Machine Learning Engineer (TS/SCI) (GEOINT)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; onsite. U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance are required.

Salary: $165,000–$215,000 annual base pay, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic work location, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy computer vision pipeline components including image preprocessing, distributed training, inference engines, and data stores.
• Implement synthetic data generation using generative AI for commercial and government GEOINT data.
• Transform varied data types to support machine learning and AI workflows.
• Apply advances in computer vision and machine learning to customer mission problems.
• Brief internal teams on delivery progress, evaluation results, and project challenges.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are mandatory; willingness to obtain a CI polygraph is required.
• 5+ years of programming experience with Python, TypeScript, Java, C, or C++.
• 2+ years leading system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, deploying, and versioning machine learning or AI models in production.
• Experience with major cloud platforms, managed compute, databases, storage, IAM, Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, machine learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows.
• Experience with satellite or aerial imagery, GeoTIFF, coordinate reference systems, GDAL, Rasterio, Shapely, Fiona, or GeoPandas.
• Experience developing object detection, semantic or instance segmentation, or change detection models for overhead imagery.
