Paranoids Technical Security Engineer I

Location: Ireland; flexible hybrid work with occasional onsite work sessions, team-building, or other in-person events.

Salary: €45,300–€75,500 per year. The package may also include discretionary annual bonuses or commissions.

What you will do

• Build event-driven workflows and reliable, scalable integrations across issue-tracking and code platforms.
• Develop and maintain GitHub integrations for branch, commit, and pull-request visibility in Jira, including branch-from-issue and pull-request status linking.
• Implement secure service-to-service access with certificates, tokens, IAM policies, service accounts, and least-privilege secret management with rotation.
• Create automation packs, reusable libraries, integration tests, documentation, and lightweight data pipelines or UDFs for ticket enrichment using GeoIP, metadata lookups, Databricks, or SQL engines.
• Troubleshoot API, workflow, permission, configuration, and performance issues with platform administrators.
• Establish CI/CD with GitHub Actions or similar tooling, and define SLOs, alerts, dashboards, runbooks, observability, post-incident improvements, and change-management practices.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience building integrations or automation, including REST APIs, webhooks, and app frameworks.
• Strong development skills, including automation frameworks, SDKs, and clean, testable code.
• Hands-on experience with secrets management, service accounts, and RBAC/IAM in cloud or enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with CI/CD, version-control best practices, and trunk-based development.
• Practical knowledge of ticket lifecycle design, including workflows, screens, validators, post-functions, custom fields, and templating.
• Familiarity with moderate-scale data processing using SQL, schemas, and UDFs for ticket enrichment and reporting.
• Clear communication, product thinking, and a pragmatic approach to automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with N8N, StackStorm, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
• Background in security operations or vulnerability-management workflows.
• Exposure to Slack/ChatOps, notification pipelines, and policy-as-code.
• Knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals for secure egress and proxy design.
• Working fluency with agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, including directing, reviewing, and validating AI-generated code and automation.
