Finance & Strategy Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Ontario, British Columbia, Toronto, or Vancouver, Canada

Salary: CA$160,000–CA$200,000 base salary annually, plus equity; total compensation ranges from CA$200,000 to CA$250,000 annually and may include a sign-on bonus and other incentives.

What you will do

• Build and maintain integrated financial models, scenario and sensitivity analyses, and business cases for products, partnerships, and investments.
• Evaluate commercial agreement economics, including pricing, revenue share, unit economics, and ROI, and help shape deal terms.
• Support fundraising, M&A, capital allocation, market sizing, investment prioritization, and cost optimization decisions.
• Own monthly and quarterly forecasts and contribute to annual budgets and long-range plans using driver-based models linking operational metrics to P&L outcomes.
• Lead actuals-versus-plan and forecast reviews, explain variances, identify risks and opportunities, and prepare executive-, board-, and investor-ready materials.
• Use SQL, BigQuery, and AI tools to automate recurring reporting and analysis.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, strategic finance, or FP&A. Investment banking or private equity experience as an Analyst or Associate is preferred.
• Advanced financial modeling skills, including three-statement models, DCF, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis; expert-level Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting and how the three financial statements connect.
• Excellent communication skills, including explaining financial concepts to non-finance partners and presenting confidently to senior leaders.
• Working knowledge of SQL or demonstrated ability to learn technical tools quickly.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to work faster and automate repetitive tasks.
• Strong ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and a builder mindset.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Math, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience in technology, fintech, travel, marketplaces, or B2B partnerships.
• Experience with Python and/or BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• CFA, CPA, or MBA.
