Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with office presence in Milan, Italy

Salary: €80,000–120,000 per year, plus meaningful equity

hirify.global is building an AI platform for legal work used by more than 20,000 legal professionals across Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and Bulgaria.

What you will do

• Lead large, complex technical initiatives spanning multiple product squads and deliver them with a high degree of autonomy.
• Make and own architectural and technical decisions across squads, balancing speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
• Align squad technical leads and engineering managers on technical direction through influence rather than hierarchy.
• Participate as the final stage of engineering interview panels and help define strong engineering standards.
• Work across frontend, backend, systems, and architecture problems based on organizational needs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with recent experience as a Staff, Principal, or Founding Engineer, Architect, or startup CTO.
• Hands-on experience designing and running complex, large-scale distributed systems.
• Comfort working across the stack and a track record of owning problems outside the core area of expertise.
• Proven ability to drive cross-team initiatives end to end and influence decisions made by teams without direct management responsibility.
• Experience across different technology companies, startups, scale-ups, or big tech environments involving real technical complexity.
• Fluent English.
