Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: ITMILCOP; work on customer premises and willingness to travel as required.

Starting salary: €39,780 per year for a full-time schedule; final compensation may vary based on geographical tier, skills, education, and experience.

What you will do

• Partner with customers to understand business challenges and translate them into fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
• Build and iterate custom AI solutions using agentic AI frameworks.
• Own delivery from scoping through production deployment as part of customer delivery teams.
• Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Document deployment learnings, share best practices, and contribute feedback and code to AI platforms and product teams.
• Keep developing expertise in emerging technologies and changing customer requirements.

Requirements

• Demonstrable programming expertise in Python or another modern language such as C#, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, version control with Git and GitHub, and data engineering tools including Pandas and Spark.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google AI.
• Experience with distributed computing architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with open-source AI tools and libraries, including Hugging Face and relevant repositories.
• Deep technical expertise in one or two domains with broad knowledge across AI/ML, cloud, and consulting.
• Experience designing, building, or integrating multi-agent systems and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Agent Framework, AutoGen, or CrewAI, including agent protocols and coordination mechanisms.
• Practical knowledge of deploying retrieval-augmented generation architectures and integrating structured and unstructured knowledge sources.
• Knowledge of system-level optimization and security best practices for scalable AI systems.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical value to diverse stakeholders, including executives.
• Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
