Senior Engineer, Problem Solver (Automotive Quality)

What you will do

• Lead and coach Engineering, Supplier, Manufacturing, Warranty, and other cross-functional teams through structured problem solving using Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS IDDOV, Shainin RedX, or equivalent methods.
• Lead workshops to identify root causes and develop effective, innovative solutions.
• Prevent problems by identifying risks and developing robust solutions, while also leading reactive problem resolution.
• Capture lessons learned in DFMEAs and DVPs, define quality requirements, and oversee quality maturity management.
• Define and improve processes using Lean methods including TIMWOODS, VSM, and 5S to eliminate waste.
• Teach, coach, and mentor team members; validate functions and systems; use AI to identify and solve problems; and develop the capabilities of the Technical Quality organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, including Mechanical, Industrial, Vehicle, or a related discipline.
• 10–15+ years of experience in automotive engineering or product quality, including direct experience as a dedicated Problem Solver.
• Deep technical knowledge of product and vehicle design, development, and manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success launching new programs on time while meeting quality and program metrics.
• Working knowledge of NHTSA FMVSS requirements and CAE methods applied to safety, NVH, and durability optimization.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams through clear communication and confident, results-oriented decision-making.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel.
• Advanced proficiency in product assessment, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis methodologies, including Six Sigma, DFSS, Red X, or equivalent.
• High integrity, a disciplined data-driven approach to quality decisions, and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

• Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Six Sigma, IDDOV/DMAIC, and Structured Problem Solving.
