Principal Data Scientist (Generative AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; employment sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of production-ready Generative AI and agentic AI applications for operational business areas.
• Manage the full AI/ML lifecycle from ideation and experimentation through production, using prompt engineering, data versioning, systematic experimentation, and A/B testing.
• Build secure, scalable AWS infrastructure with attention to resource management, cost optimization, compliance, security, and fairness.
• Design integrations between AI systems and modern and legacy front-end and back-end platforms; maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Implement MLOps practices for reproducibility, scalability, model governance, monitoring, deployment, and operational reliability.
• Lead agile delivery, collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, mentor junior data scientists and engineers, and own solutions from prototype through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or another analytical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience deploying and supporting full-stack applications in enterprise environments, including several years integrating AI and MLOps into full-stack applications.
• Experience designing and shipping production Generative AI applications with agentic architectures, including prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph, tool and function calling, structured outputs, model selection, and LLM evaluation.
• Full-stack development experience across backend, frontend, and database technologies, including Vue, TKG, Python, TypeScript, Git, SQL, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
• Experience with AWS services, particularly Bedrock, SageMaker, S3, Lambda, and infrastructure as code with CDK.
• Extensive experience applying software engineering design patterns and enterprise application architecture principles to build secure, scalable, maintainable, and cost-optimized cloud-native applications.
• Experience in data science, machine learning techniques, and data engineering, including AI fairness, experimentation, and A/B testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; resilience, resourcefulness, proactivity, comfort with ambiguity and change, learning agility, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in an analytical field.
• Familiarity with single-cloud or multi-cloud agentic architecture for LLM-based applications.
• Proven experience implementing automated MLOps pipelines for model and algorithm training, monitoring, versioning, deployment, and production scaling.
