Senior Cloud Systems Administrator (AWS)

Location: Remote (United States); U.S. citizenship required. An active U.S. Government security clearance and pre-existing CBP suitability and/or TS/SCI clearance are required.

Base pay: $109,000–$159,500 annually, with ranges varying by U.S. location; listed ranges include Colorado, New Jersey, Delaware, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and California.

What you will do

• Administer primarily Red Hat Linux systems and install, operate, maintain, patch, and back up system applications and infrastructure.
• Deploy highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure and administer the AWS platform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Development teams for automated infrastructure deployment and configuration.
• Design and implement AWS and cluster networking, including VPNs between customer networks, cloud environments, and other environments.
• Troubleshoot and remediate system, application, configuration, and production issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Support security compliance, lifecycle management, monitoring, incident response, vendor coordination, and secure application configuration design.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and pre-existing CBP suitability and/or TS/SCI clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; 4 additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least 8 years of Linux-based system administration experience and 3 years of cloud-based systems administration experience.
• Experience working on Agile Development teams.
• Experience provisioning and sustaining network infrastructures.
• Experience developing and managing secure networks for secure PKI, IPSEC, or VPN-enabled environments.
• Experience developing and/or maintaining an ATO (Authority to Operate).

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification and at least one focused AWS certification, such as Security.
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification.
• RHCE or RHCSA certification.
• Certified Kubernetes ACKA certification.
• Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies, Infrastructure as Code, PaaS, virtualized cluster management, and containerization.
• Advanced analytical skills and the ability to learn new technologies and derive secure technical solutions efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working collaboratively.
• Experience or familiarity with Nessus, Prisma, QRadar, and Kubernetes.
