Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully onsite at the specified client location in Reston, Virginia, United States.

Estimated annual pay range: $110,000–$150,000, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.

What you will do

• Develop security assessment plans and conduct technical assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls.
• Document assessment results and concurrent risk assessments in Security Assessment Reports.
• Develop POA&M reports, including weaknesses, remediation or mitigation actions, and risk-based criticality ratings.
• Support information assurance, RMF, and continuous monitoring programs across administrative and technical activities.
• Develop security authorization packages, initial system security plans, and contingency plans for newly developed systems.
• Coordinate assessments independently and collaborate with system owners, security officers, developers, and IT operations personnel.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.
• Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
• Strong understanding of NIST A&A/RMF guidelines and industry best practices.
• Ability to conduct complex information system security assessments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to develop risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, contingency and disaster recovery plans, configuration management documentation, security assessments, and mitigation plans.
