Software Engineer (Android)

Location: Open for contractors based in Poland.

Rate: 130–170 PLN/hour (B2B).

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality Android applications, including post-booking and home page experiences.
• Collaborate with iOS, backend, and feature teams on specifications and cross-platform integration.
• Improve architecture, modernize the codebase, and raise standards for code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Optimize UI, accessibility, battery usage, memory management, load times, and smooth user interactions.
• Use analytics and metrics to optimize engagement and app health based on user behavior.
• Improve automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, app stability, release processes, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Android development experience with a proven record of building high-quality, user-facing Android apps.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines, Android architecture, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with performance optimization, background services, memory management, UI, and animations.
• Experience with unit, integration, and UI testing, and a commitment to writing testable and maintainable code.
• Ability to drive technical strategy and ensure high standards in code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Understanding of SOLID principles and software architecture patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment systems, including GitLab, Fastlane, and Docker.
• Experience with Firebase SDK, including Firebase Analytics, Remote Config, and Crashlytics.
• Customer-centric approach focused on delivering strong user experiences.
• Must operate as an independent contractor based in Poland under a B2B/service agreement.
