Senior Fullstack Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Salary: $164,400–$262,600 annually in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC; $156,200–$249,400 annually in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia. The role is also eligible for equity awards.

What you will do

• Design and build multi-step AI agents coordinating mortgage fulfillment workflows, including document collection, condition clearing, and closing coordination.
• Build evaluation frameworks measuring agent reliability, accuracy, and task completion, then use the results to improve prompts, models, and fallbacks.
• Architect and operate agent infrastructure for model serving, prompt pipelines, batching, queueing, observability, idempotency, retries, graceful degradation, and structured logging.
• Build reliable integrations with Encompass, DocuTech, and other third-party platforms to read state and write actions back.
• Collaborate with Encompass administrators, Fulfillment operations, and Platform engineering partners to refine requirements and deliver iteratively.
• Establish engineering practices for testing, measurement, observability, incident response, code reviews, and design discussions while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating scalable, reliable services in a modern cloud environment.
• End-to-end production experience owning an AI or ML system, including designing, shipping, measuring, and iterating on it with accountability for correctness, cost, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: designing and running evaluation pipelines, including producing labeled data at scale; operating LLM or ML model serving and orchestrating multi-step AI workflows; or building reliable integrations with third-party platforms and external APIs.
• Strong infrastructure skills and AI fluency, including understanding production issues such as timeouts, race conditions, malformed payloads, and retry storms.
• Ability to define correctness criteria, build measurement tooling, and use the resulting signal to improve systems.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a record of developing deep expertise in a specialized domain.
