Senior Counsel, IP - Content & Brands (AI)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States. Hybrid schedule: in-office Monday–Thursday and work from home on Fridays.

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 annual.

What you will do

• Evaluate potential intellectual property infringements and manage enforcement actions, including cease-and-desist letters, civil and criminal actions, online marketplace and social media enforcement, customs detentions, and seizures.
• Manage global trademark searches, clearance, applications, prosecution, Office Action responses, registrations, renewals, assignments, and recordations.
• Manage copyright and design registrations with intellectual property offices worldwide.
• Work with content teams, including hirify.global Films, to clear and secure intellectual property rights.
• Advise business functions on IP matters involving AI, M&A transactions, tax, finance, and other areas, while training business partners, customers, licensees, and ecommerce platforms.
• Support matters outside the core practice area when urgent needs arise.

Requirements

• At least eight years of experience as an IP attorney, including contentious and non-contentious matters such as IP litigation, clearance, prosecution, and IP transactions.
• Juris Doctor degree with a strong academic record from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Good standing with at least one state bar; if not licensed in California, commitment to qualify under California in-house counsel registration requirements.
• Ability to communicate legal issues clearly, succinctly, and understandably in verbal and written form at all organizational levels.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, judgment, professional maturity, and executive presence skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to deliver high-quality work and sound guidance under deadlines and pressure.
• Ability to handle a broad range of practice areas, address new matters and challenges, prioritize independently, and manage multiple cross-functional projects with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to act as both a leader and individual contributor, partner effectively with the business, and contribute to a culture of efficiency, trust, collaboration, accountability, and ethical conduct.
• Highly organized and meticulous, with a selfless, team-oriented attitude, good sense of humor, and growth mindset focused on continuous learning.
