Director, Product Management (Data & Agentic AI Platform)

Location: Hybrid and remote options in the San Francisco, CA metro market only; not hiring outside of the San Francisco, CA market.

Salary: $220,000–$250,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise data platform strategy, target architecture, sequencing, roadmap, and success metrics.
• Lead migrations of data, ETL processes, and dashboards while optimizing replication, storage, compute, and platform costs.
• Own enterprise data products, the semantic layer, business glossary, context engineering, and access models for analytics and AI agents.
• Set the vision and multi-year roadmap for a shared agent harness covering workflow building, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and governance.
• Build reference workflows and enable operations, servicing, sales, and corporate teams to create and run AI-driven workflows and customer-facing or voice agents.
• Partner with Data Engineering, InfoSec, Security, Risk, and Compliance on governance, lineage, quality, privacy, safety, auditability, approvals, human handoffs, rollback, and cost management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience owning platform, data, or infrastructure products, including services and APIs consumed by other teams.
• Experience building shared infrastructure that delivers operating leverage rather than standalone point solutions.
• Experience leading large data or platform migrations and managing cloud, storage, model, vendor, and other platform costs.
• Knowledge of modern data architecture, including warehouses and lakehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks, ETL/ELT, event streaming, semantic layers, metric stores, and ontologies.
• Experience building data governance into platforms, including lineage, quality, privacy, and access controls, ideally in a regulated business such as financial services.
• Working understanding of security, fraud, and regulatory risks affecting AI systems and sensitive financial data, with experience building controls for regulated businesses.
• Comfort working with code, prompts, and evaluation frameworks, with enough technical depth to build credibility with engineering teams.
• Ability to connect platform work to business outcomes and demonstrate indirect value.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive outcomes without direct authority, and explain technical concepts to executive audiences.
• Director-level leadership across trusted and steady leadership, focused and agile execution, outcome ownership, and growing people and capability.

Nice to have

• Recent demonstrated experience building agentic workflows for scaled operational use, including explaining what was built, what failed, and what changed.
• Experience managing model, token, and inference costs for AI workloads.
• Experience with customer-facing or voice AI, including authentication, latency, human handoff, and compliance.
• Experience applying AI to the software development lifecycle.
• Experience mentoring or leading product managers.
