Senior Fund Accountant (Private Equity)

Location: Hybrid — Toronto, ON, Canada

Salary: CAD 72,000–CAD 105,600 yearly

What you will do

• Prepare and maintain general ledgers and supporting schedules for private equity funds using Investran.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE, and other relevant accounting standards.
• Process capital calls, distributions, NAV calculations, investor-level reporting, management fee, and carried interest computations.
• Review and reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and investment transactions.
• Support audits and tax processes by working with auditors, tax advisors, clients, and internal teams.
• Improve Investran-related systems and workflows, mentor junior team members, review their work, and resolve client queries.

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in fund administration or audit.
• Experience working with private equity structures.
• Experience with Investran or other accounting software.
• Strong understanding of investment fund structures and private markets accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review and validate financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to collaborate and manage client relationships.

Nice to have

• Professional accounting designation such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent, preferred or in progress.
