Global Commodity Manager (Optics)

Location: Hybrid in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; work from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Develop and implement optics commodity and supply-chain strategies to improve time-to-market, continuity of supply, and cost reduction.
• Manage optical hardware systems, pluggable optical and copper modules, and cables.
• Lead optics new product introduction, supplier and product selection, qualification, and production release with suppliers and engineering teams.
• Manage sourcing activities, supplier relationships, onboarding, RFI/RFQ processes, supplier business reviews, and commercial, technical, and product roadmap alignment.
• Lead contract negotiations, price negotiations, TL9000 audits, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle management from qualification through end-of-life.
• Monitor optics industry trends, identify supply-chain risks and new technologies, and develop strategic projects for the optics portfolio.

Requirements

• First-level university degree.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply-chain functions preferred.
• Ability to work across different programs and products.
• Ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate across a cross-functional organization.
• Experience building cost models and monitoring commodity market trends and intelligence.
• Experience summarizing complex proposals and projects into executive presentations.
• Ability to present clearly and effectively.
• Analytical and technical aptitude.
• Fluent English.
