LSI High Throughput Facility Manager (Biotechnology)

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus, Vancouver, BC, Canada; onsite facility management role.

Salary: $10,459.67–$15,675.58 CAD monthly.

hirify.global's Life Science Institute operates the High Throughput Biology Core Facility, supporting research, training, commercialization, and entrepreneurship initiatives.

What you will do

• Manage high-throughput screening and automation infrastructure, including acquisition, scheduling, data management, troubleshooting, maintenance, service contracts, and capability development.
• Coordinate research projects, milestones, facility operations, scientific reporting, and relationships with LSI, Bioproducts Institute, ECOSCOPE, academic, private-sector, and funding partners.
• Manage budgets, accounts receivable, fee-for-service invoicing, cost recovery, financial reporting, service contracts, grant applications, fundraising, and sponsorship activities.
• Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and manage scientists, technicians, students, contractors, and short-term project staff.
• Develop prototyping experiments, educational content, biological engineering curriculum, workshops, seminars, infrastructure demonstrations, websites, outreach materials, scientific reports, and press releases.
• Lead business development, community engagement, academic and industry partnerships, public presentations, conferences, and strategic networking.

Requirements

• Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional designation and experience.
• Five years of experience in a field of specialization, or seven years of relevant management experience for candidates without an advanced degree in the focus areas, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced degree focus areas may include bio-engineering, microbial ecology, molecular biology, biophysics, chemistry, or biochemistry.
• Comfort with statistical programming, spreadsheets, word processing, information management, robotic workflows, instrumentation, grant and report writing, and website updating.
• Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage competing deadlines, and forecast upcoming responsibilities.
• Strong fundamentals in statistics, management, public speaking, finance, screening, automation systems, and biotechnology.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to apply systems approaches to effective leadership and student training.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-driven problem solving, visual analysis, and entrepreneurship.
