Senior Geochemist

Location: Remote-first. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Finland, Sweden, or Botswana. The role requires international travel to exploration sites, with field-facing roles spending significantly more time in the field.

Salary: $140,000–$185,000 US base salary per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the embedded geochemist for exploration programs across North America, Europe, and Africa.
• Design and run surface geochemical sampling campaigns across glaciated, tropical, arid, and transported-cover settings.
• Own geochemical sampling, preparation, quality control, and real-time assay review for drilling programs.
• Interpret multi-element datasets, including lithogeochemical classification, alteration and trace-element vectoring, fertility screening, and compositional data analysis.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, data scientists, and software engineers to improve exploration tools and prioritize targets.
• Train field teams, assess legacy datasets, support method development, and manage international travel and deployment schedules.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing surface geochemical programs in multiple regolith or cover settings.
• Experience managing geochemistry for drilling programs, from sampling protocols and quality control through interpretation of incoming results.
• Strong knowledge of quality control, reference materials, duplicates, control charting, precision and bias assessment, and the Theory of Sampling.
• Proficiency with standard desktop software such as ArcGIS or QGIS and at least one geochemical analysis package such as ioGAS.
• Valid passport, willingness to travel internationally for extended periods, and legal authorization to work in one of the listed countries are required.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting experience with Python or R for geochemical data.
• Knowledge of geostatistics, compositional data analysis, environmental geochemistry, portable XRF, or in-field sample preparation.
• International experience in the Central African Copperbelt or pegmatite provinces of central Africa and Namibia.
• Professional registration or chartership, such as CGeol, FAusIMM, EurGeol, or SACNASP.
• Working proficiency in French.
