Senior Groundwater Modeller (Hydrogeologist)

Location: Remote, based in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Saskatoon, or Whitehorse, Canada

Salary: CAD 120,000–165,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop conceptual, analytical, and numerical groundwater models for environmental impact assessments, permitting, water treatment, and remediation projects.
• Provide senior hydrogeological technical input and act as a hydrogeology subject-matter expert across projects.
• Conduct, interpret, and report on hydrogeological and water studies, including aquifer testing and aquifer characterization.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, scopes, and presentations, and contribute to business development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical experts, clients, assessors, and government regulators.
• Mentor junior and intermediate team members and support an inclusive, accountable, collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related science.
• 7–9 years of relevant experience in mining or environmental consulting, with demonstrated success in groundwater modelling and groundwater programs.
• Experience with hydrogeological modelling software such as FEFLOW and MODFLOW.
• Strong knowledge of hydrogeological study design and experience integrating hydrogeology with multidisciplinary studies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and other business software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Doctorate-level degree.
• P.Geo. or P.Eng. accreditation or eligibility.
