Principal Product Manager (Logging & Streaming Data Platform)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; hybrid schedule with three days onsite per week.

Salary: $153,000–$247,500 per year, plus potential restricted stock units and bonus.

What you will do

• Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Strata Logging Service and related logging and telemetry platform capabilities.
• Define requirements for real-time ingestion, streaming processing, storage, retention, forwarding, data onboarding, schema evolution, data quality, and recovery.
• Partner with engineering on throughput, latency, data freshness, durability, availability, reliability, multi-tenant SaaS, and cloud infrastructure cost tradeoffs.
• Develop a three-to-five-year platform vision and translate it into prioritized roadmap increments, measurable outcomes, and platform metrics.
• Engage enterprise customers, network and security administrators, partners, and field teams to translate operational needs into product requirements and success criteria.
• Lead capabilities from discovery through launch, adoption, and optimization while partnering with UX, product marketing, sales engineering, technical marketing, and support.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of technical enterprise software, SaaS, or cloud platform products.
• Product ownership experience with logging, telemetry, observability, streaming data, security data, or a comparable high-volume data platform.
• Experience defining real-time or near-real-time data ingestion and processing requirements with downstream storage or data delivery.
• Ability to discuss distributed data pipelines, throughput, latency, schema evolution, retention, reliability, and cost tradeoffs with engineering teams.
• Experience defining long-term product strategy, phased roadmaps, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience owning product discovery, requirements, prioritization, delivery, launch, and adoption.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers and using customer feedback, usage data, and platform performance metrics to guide product decisions.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, equivalent practical experience, or equivalent military experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with network security, network management, next-generation firewalls, or security operations products.
• Product experience with log management, SIEM, security analytics, or observability platforms.
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, or comparable event-streaming technologies.
• Experience with data lake architectures, high-volume telemetry storage, streaming pipelines, and downstream analytics.
• Experience defining log forwarding, external integrations, APIs, or data export capabilities.
• Experience optimizing compute, storage, retention, and data transfer costs.
• Experience with data governance, access controls, tenant isolation, or enterprise data-platform compliance requirements.
• Experience developing AI-enabled analytics, automation, or intelligent operational workflows.
• Experience working with enterprise customers, partners, sales engineering, technical marketing, and technical support organizations.
