Security Enablement Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Raleigh, NC; hybrid work with in-office attendance 3 days per week.

Base salary: $108,800–$131,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and maintain security enablement resources, documentation, answer libraries, and self-service workflows for go-to-market teams.
• Use AI and automation to improve security questionnaire responses, documentation, and customer security workflows while validating output accuracy and data handling.
• Research complex security questions, triage incoming requests, prioritize escalations, and coordinate responses with Information Security specialists.
• Join pre-sales and customer calls to explain security, privacy, compliance, integrations, deployment models, and data governance to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Deliver training for Sales and Customer Engineering teams and help them identify when additional security expertise is required.
• Investigate security-related deal blockers, coordinate cross-functional resolutions, and escalate genuine product gaps to CISO, Engineering, and Product leadership.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, or Technical Consulting.
• Strong experience discussing enterprise SaaS technology with customers, including APIs, integrations, deployment models, and data governance.
• Clear and effective communication skills with both technical and executive audiences, including the ability to explain complex concepts in live conversations and written responses.
• Ability to manage competing requests, assess priorities, work independently, and follow through on commitments while balancing urgent customer needs with broader team objectives.
• Practical familiarity with common AI tools and experience applying them to workflows beyond basic information retrieval.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of core cybersecurity concepts and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, with interest in deepening cybersecurity expertise.
• Direct experience completing security questionnaires or supporting customer security due diligence, trust, and assurance requests.
• A security certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCSK, CISSP, or CISA.
• Experience with GRC or trust management platforms such as Vanta, Drata, or Secureframe, or with security questionnaire automation tools.
• Pre-sales experience at an enterprise SaaS company, particularly with security or IT buyers.
