Automation Architect (AI)

Location: On-site at hirify.global Center in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States, with at least four days per week in the office; relocation is available. Travel: 10%.

Compensation: $188,251–$230,084, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Define the long-term architecture and roadmap for cloud automation and AI-enabled solutions.
• Design resilient, observable, secure workflows using cloud-native services and modern development practices.
• Identify and integrate AI opportunities that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and developer experience.
• Build reusable automation frameworks, standards, patterns, guardrails, and production capabilities.
• Guide technical decisions across multiple teams through design reviews, governance, and hands-on leadership.
• Mentor developers and help promising experiments mature into reliable production solutions.

Requirements

• Completed and verified bachelor's degree in Computer Science before starting.
• At least 10 years of software development experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• At least 5 years of infrastructure automation experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with AI tools.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for employment visa status.
• Must be able to work on-site at least four days per week in Maplewood, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• Expert-level AWS serverless architecture experience with Step Functions, Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and related services.
• Experience turning complex business processes into reusable automation patterns, frameworks, and platforms.
• Experience integrating generative AI, machine learning, or AI agents into business workflows with attention to security, governance, reliability, and appropriate use cases.
• Experience guiding architecture decisions, leading design reviews, establishing engineering standards, and mentoring developers.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, cost management, and operational support for business-critical automation.
