Sr Specialist, Program Management (Space Communications)

Location: Onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah, US. The schedule is 9/80, with every other Friday off. Travel of up to 10% annually is required.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of programs covering development, production, and sustainment of satellite communications systems, space networking architectures, and ground infrastructure.
• Own cost, schedule, and technical performance in accordance with contractual and internal requirements.
• Prepare and deliver program status reviews covering financials, schedules, risks, opportunities, contracts, and technical performance.
• Serve as the primary customer interface, lead program reviews, manage expectations, and maintain transparent communication.
• Establish program baselines and milestones, identify variances, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage integrated master schedules, risk registers, action tracking, compliance, and contract closeout.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field plus at least 6 years of program management or related experience within the defense industry, or a graduate degree plus at least 4 years of prior related experience.
• Active DoD Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance on defense programs.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs and priorities, including development and production programs.
• Experience across proposal, negotiations, contract award, planning, execution, and closeout phases.
• Knowledge of program scheduling, production program management, cost management, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), and integrated master schedules.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR, DPAS-rated contracts, and Department of War customer environments.
• Written, verbal, customer-facing, negotiation, executive presentation, leadership, influencing, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with space-domain platforms and customers.
• Advanced knowledge of EVMS and application of program integrated master schedule data input, output, and progress tracking.
