Program Manager V (Aerospace)

Location: Folsom, CA; the role is onsite or hybrid based in Reno, NV, with travel up to 25% to customer locations, including possible overnight travel within the continental U.S.

Base salary: $180,405–$310,400 USD annually.

What you will do

• Plan, direct, and monitor programs to maintain scope, schedule, budget, and project-level profit and loss.
• Develop and review program management documentation, including monthly status reports, PDR/CDR materials, planning documents, CDRLs, presentations, and related deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering, manpower, production, facilities, and project staff resources to support program execution.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve program risks and issues while ensuring deliverables meet requirements.
• Serve as the primary customer contact, participate in customer meetings and reviews, and brief technical teams, management, subcontractors, and customers.
• Support follow-on and new business opportunities, including proposals and direct engagement with customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree emphasizing Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university; equivalent experience may be considered instead of the degree.
• 20+ years of program management experience, including 10–15 years managing DOD propulsion-related programs.
• Direct experience generating, managing, and owning Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management.
• Direct experience managing large subcontracts.
• Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.
• Experience managing programs for U.S. Government customers.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and Project.
• Ability to assume increasing responsibilities, multitask in a highly collaborative team environment, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance and must have U.S. citizenship; a current DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree emphasizing Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; equivalent experience may be considered instead of the degree.
• Experience managing rocket propulsion defense system programs.
• Experience managing Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements.
• Business development experience working directly with funding customer offices.
