Senior Finance Manager, Retail Cost Centre of Excellence

Location: Halifax, Bristol, Cardiff, or Leeds, UK. Hybrid working requires spending at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site.

Salary: £85,493–£100,580 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive Retail Cost Centre of Excellence team.
• Deliver financial insight and management information for month-end and planning cycles with robust controls and effective review.
• Turn financial information into actionable insight for Finance Business Partners, challenging assumptions and supporting better decisions.
• Build stakeholder relationships and collaborate across Finance to deliver shared outcomes.
• Lead continuous improvement and Finance transformation by simplifying and standardising processes, strengthening controls, and embedding new ways of working across people, processes, data, and reporting.

Requirements

• Recognised accountancy qualification or equivalent relevant Finance experience.
• Proficient financial planning and forecasting skills, using judgement to produce meaningful information that supports business decisions.
• Proficient experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing colleagues, setting clear expectations, and supporting ownership of performance and development.
• Excellent ability to present complex information clearly and meaningfully to different audiences.
• Excellent problem-solving ability, including understanding wider implications and driving issues through to resolution.
• Expertise in building trusted relationships and working across Finance to achieve shared outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience of cost management and/or working within a Finance Centre of Excellence.
• Experience of Finance transformation, process improvement, or significant organisational change.
