Manager, Energy Markets Consulting

Location: Nationwide Remote Office, United States; all candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $98,614.00–$167,644.00 per year for full-time employment.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary consulting teams delivering power market studies, asset valuations, financing and M&A transaction support, and strategic advisory engagements.
• Oversee long-term energy, capacity, ancillary service, and REC price forecasts across major U.S. power markets.
• Review power market modeling using PROMOD, PSLF, and other analytical tools, ensuring technical quality, commercial relevance, and timely delivery.
• Manage client relationships, present analyses and recommendations to executive audiences, and lead proposals covering scope, pricing, and staffing.
• Support growth initiatives in energy transition, battery storage, data centers, transmission, and power market investment activity.
• Mentor junior consultants and analysts and support recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Mathematics, Energy Systems, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Leadership and people management skills, strong project management and organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.
• Entrepreneurial mindset focused on client service and business growth.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Energy Systems, Operations Research, an MBA, or a related field.
• Experience with PROMOD, PSLF, PLEXOS, Aurora, or similar market simulation tools.
• Understanding of project finance, M&A transactions, asset valuation, or investment decision support in the energy sector.
• Experience leading consulting engagements, analytical studies, or commercial evaluations related to energy markets.
• Experience managing client relationships and serving as a primary point of contact.
• Success supporting business development, proposal efforts, or account growth initiatives.
• Experience evaluating renewable energy, battery storage, transmission, and large-load opportunities.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools, including Microsoft Copilot, generative AI platforms, machine learning applications, and advanced analytics tools.
• Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, or other analytical tools and strong financial modeling capabilities.
