Public Health Analyst

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; hybrid work based in Atlanta with teleworking most days and ad hoc visits to the CDC campus for in-person meetings and office visits.

What you will do

• Update or draft technical user guides and related project documentation, including generalized versions that can be reused across the same environment and tools.
• Coordinate project-plan tasks by scheduling technical meetings, preparing agendas, and following up on assigned actions and deliverables.
• Draft and edit data system and process documentation, project plans, requirements-capture tools, templates, and related materials.
• Support business-requirements elicitation by participating in meetings, asking clarifying questions, documenting requirements, and confirming accuracy with program staff.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, such as MPH, MS, or MHA, in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, or a related field, plus at least 2 years of project management experience managing or running a project; or a bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, or a related field, plus at least 4 years of project management experience managing or running a project.
• Familiarity with public health research budgets and expenditures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize competing needs.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of public health project management experience.
• Strong organization skills and ability to use Microsoft tools to organize and track project follow-up and deliverables.
• Critical thinking and ability to clarify technical requirements through detailed questioning.
• Clear technical writing skills, including drafting and editing technical reports for audiences unfamiliar with specific tools.
• Business analysis experience.
• Certified in Public Health (CPH), Project Management Professional (PMP), or specialized training in public health program evaluation methodologies.
