Data Analyst I (Medicaid)

Location: Remote within the United States, operating within the Eastern time zone; expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. Occasional travel for training and project meetings is expected at less than 5% per year.

Salary: $51,600–$65,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build working knowledge of program data models, reports, and business requirements.
• Analyze Medicaid and CHIP data and metrics with the team to identify causes and solutions for data quality issues.
• Translate stakeholder needs into reports, dashboards, and other well-defined solutions.
• Use business intelligence tools, cloud service consoles, databases, and SQL queries as needed.
• Assist database analysts and programmers with database design, implementation, maintenance, data collection, and database specifications.
• Maintain the data dictionary, coordinate project activities, and provide meeting, progress-tracking, and documentation support.

Requirements

• Must pass U.S. Federal Government public trust clearance. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or pass clearance through the Foreign National Government System, which requires having lived in the United States for at least 3 of the previous 5 years, holding a valid and non-expired passport from the country of birth, and having appropriate visa or work permit documentation.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Experience analyzing and visualizing data.
• Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues and projects, remain flexible when priorities change, and use a resourceful, curious, and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and balance concurrent deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with project management software, status reporting, scheduling, management, implementation, and administration.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Agile, particularly SAFe methodology.
• Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or the healthcare industry.
• Experience creating and maintaining data visualization dashboards.
• Experience with data management systems and analysis or statistical tools.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Experience identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements.
